When I say “I am a Christian”

December 20, 2008 - 1:34 am No Comments

Christmas is just a few days away and people are busy buying gifts, for company dinners, for loved ones, family and friends. These days, believers and non-believers alike Celebrates Christmas, it has been so commercialized, specially Christmas sales it’s like a shopping spree. Shopping malls all decorated and lighted up creating the mood for Christmas, packaged pressies, nice wrapping, setting up christmas trees at home, humming to the tune of christmas songs; But in all these push and shove Do they know the meaning of Christmas? I took some time to ponder and reflect back after all the happenings, was it just mere celebration, having the nice warm fuzzy feeling of Christmas mood? Here I have got the true meaning of why Christians meant when they say they a Christian and the Celebration of Christmas is actually God gave His Son to us, the day Jesus was born. (no one knows the actual date, its not necessary on the 25th Dec 2008) But a date of remembrance of Jesus’s birth. The day He took the form of man to this earth, who came and die for all our sins.

When I say… ‘I am a Christian’ I’m not shouting ‘I’m clean living”
I’m whispering ‘I was lost, Now I’m found and forgiven.’

When I say… ‘I am a Christian’ I don’t speak of this with pride.
I’m confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say… ‘I am a Christian’ I’m not trying to be strong.
I’m professing that I’m weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say.. ‘I am a Christian’ I’m Not bragging of success.
I’m admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say… ‘I am a Christian’ I’m Not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say… ‘I am a Christian’ I still feel the sting of pain..
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name.

When I say…. ‘I am a Christian’ I’m not holier than thou,

I’m just a simple sinner Who received God’s good grace, somehow!

‘A woman’s heart should be so hidden in Christ
that a man should have to seek Him first to find her.’
