Two Siberian Huskies Shot

November 29, 2008 - 3:44 pm 1 Comment

Was browsing through facebook, me and Roxy alone at home, always wanted to bring her to meet some other Siberian Husky’s who live around Subang. Did some research, and remembered a friend who recently got a Husky too. Buzz her on facebook for a meet up and browse around for more Sibes around and decided to join some Siberian Husky group in fb.

Coincidently found something interesting which caught my attention most, which is about 2 Siberian Huskies were shot several times by this man who thought they were wolves came to attacked his herd of cows. They were shot on the back, leg and one of them right in the Eye! They merely survived, but I think with Sibes fighting spirit they hold-on and survived, even with 1 eye removed. More information available here http://www.dogster.com/dogs/797639 and video here http://www.wftv.com/news/17537877/detail.html . The owner was protesting and file a law suit against the shooter.

Well, just some sharing on this breed. They may look fierce and sometimes they are fierce (which dog has no temperament?, even human has, and it’s animal instinct) But generally, they are not guard dogs and they are not attackers, the work with/for human! They are known as working dogs, full of energy and strong spirit to run for miles, that is build in their genes. With generations having been in contact with human on a daily basis, this makes them very attached to humans too. Basically they want to be your friend, whenever there are strangers, they get so excited with new faces. Nevertheless, they are strong dogs, which can pound at you and pull you. I wish one day i could have a toy car in an enclosed area, and Roxy and pull me around. Better still sledge me to work…haha, that’s only possible if I’m in Alaska I guess ;)

She now can go up to the wash basin and steal things and eat! My God and I don’t know why, and what got into her (prolly too hungry/ bored) When i was washing my plate the other day, and found out that my money plant is gone! And I ask mom what happened, she say she not sure, she notice something was wrong but was not able to identify! And wow…my dog eats plant! And not any plant but Money plant ;) Well, Roxy can also be a pest control in the house…haha, cos she catches insects which is annoying her…she just concentrates on the sound and “grasp” she got it! haha! that’s good man, she does that specially to annoying “flies!” Not that bad having a dog after all isn’t it?

Little Princess Chow-Chow

October 30, 2008 - 12:20 am 2 Comments

Yes, that’s her name with her breed :) A pure breed, really “chubbily” Fat! with black tongue :P Yes, pure breed of chow-chow has black tongue’s. Not sure why but when my bf saw it, he says “He is poisoned! Because the tongue is black” haha, but that’s not true, but very seldom does dog has black tongues.

It is the most expensive breed I have ever known so far in Malaysia, and I thought Husky’s with blue eyes were expensive and this cream chow-chow cost above RM5K. So, worth the photos, time spent and touching it.

She is 3 months old but she weighs like 10kg i think, her previous owner named her “KiKi” but aunty Emelyn decided to call her “Princess” even before she adopted her back home :) Her previous owner who owned “princess’s” father a champion breed was there to hand her over, can see from his face he will miss “kiki” very much, hugging her tightly for the “last” time.

When she’s tired of all the attention she get from all the negotiator there, she just lie flat on the floor to enjoy some cool air :)

Am i too fat?

Am i too fat?

I know! I'll go for some exercise!

I know! I will go do some exercise!

What I can say is that she’s really fat! Cos the owner feeds her with cheese, single craft cheese (what human eats) that makes her fur softer and smoother, like human hair conditioner, haha. She already has double-chin and few layers of spare tyres, but it’s really cute when she walks..cos very chubby. She doesn’t really like to be carried, because most ppl would not know the right way to carry her. For normal puppy, you may just carry from the 2 front legs but for chow-chow, you need another hand to support the 2 back legs, as if you’re carrying a baby :) Else when you carry only both the front legs with 1 hand, it’s too heavy and her 2 back legs will be kicking wobbly, can be a laughing stock though LOL.

New Tricks with New Treats!

October 16, 2008 - 4:07 pm No Comments

I think I am good with sentences that rhymes! I came to know about this some time back but did not put it into any usage but just a laugh off. I came to finally realize it 2 years back when I met my current boyfriend and we use to talk and laugh about it together. Still not but into any use, we have lots of it that come into our minds, even with long sentences, since 2 brains is better than 1 :) That’s call “Synergy” Right? haha, anyways, here and now I have this blog and I think I should write down more of this starting from now on. At least when I read back, I know and I can proof I have thought of this before! And who knows, maybe someone who find out and appreciates this talent, it might be useful for poem writing, novels, articles, motivational books, nursery rhymes and even songs, all kind of music genres infact! =)

Ya, about this New Tricks with New Treats, since I was kinda free yesterday other than taking naps and medics, i have a little spare time and energy for my little doggie “Roxy”! And it has been some time that we have not thought her any new tricks. Everyone at home is asking how to teach her rollover and playdead? I has been long procrastinated while I read about it in Penang 2 weeks back and she’s not getting any younger, the older a dog is the harder it will be for her to learn. Guess same goes to human beings. But for dogs its harder when their hormone influence. Since Roxy is still a puppy so I Need to take advantage of this time to teach her a few more tricks! :)

I had this policy as far as 6 months ago, to teach Roxy with every new trick that I want to teach, I’ll get her some new treats :) So after a few rounds to teaching her how to “PlayDead” she finally got it and a treat of “rawhide, wrap around with real chicken meat” is given to her! We got four of it, for RM6, which they calculate by per 100 grams.

Roxy learns tricks really fast! But there have to be treats available ;) It takes her about a week to master 1 trick but daily practice is needed to master a trick. Next its gonna be rollover….which is gonna be quite natural after playdead is mastered! I wanted to teach the command “Bang!” instead of “Playdead” for the play dead trick, but seems that when i say command “Bang!” she automatically jump up instead of play dead! haha, so i opt. for the “Playdead” command instead. haha, guess the high tone quirks her up :)

According to mom she sneezed a few times yesterday, probably is because I spread some flu virus to her? :P
