Roxy Turns II

March 14, 2010 - 5:02 pm No Comments

Roxy turned 2 last weekend, no one actually remembered until Monday morning while i was driving to work 8th of March, hey…it was Roxy’s birthday yesterday! No one celebrated for her, till this week. But unfortunately she fell ill, vomited many times on Friday night, it was all her digested food. Not sure what’s wrong. And for the whole night there was discomfort can hear her crying. Got no choice but to let her sleep at the back kitchen with toilet access, but she kept banging the toilet door hoping that we let her out.
The next morning, she did not want to eat either, my mom brought her out for a walk and she came home drank water, vomited out even more food. I believe it is indigestion.
We try all sorts, getting advise from the vet gave her honey to drink she didn’t want. Bought glucose made for her just a few sips then she vomit again, poor thing. So we took her to the vet, the vet too can’t determine what’s wrong. Gave her a jab to stop her vomiting and fed her 2 tablets for fever.
She came back, we tried giving her vitamin where we normally add into her food, upon licking, immediately her body can’t take it, it was like spitted out.
Nothing we could do but to let her rest and hope that she recovers, she was so weak that even when she walk it’s like a drunkard, can’t walk straight.

No food for her till this morning, a slice of bread was given since she doesn’t want to eat her normal food.
Stopped by the pet shop today to buy her some energy food, cost RM8 only available in Vets.
As a birthday gift, we bought her a new dog collar, it shines at night if there’s any light shine upon the bone collar design. There was Black, Red and Blue, we decided on the Red to show the feminine side of her :)

March 13, 2010 - 12:32 am No Comments

This is a story of a dog, which looks forward each evening to go out and sit by the gate to enjoy the view of the outside world. Keep wondering what if one day I could go out and explore the world!! :) And to break free…..Enjoy!

Story of a Dog

Waiting and wondering when the owners will be back to play with me? huhu….they always come back after the sun goes down….but at least we still get to play in the house! Yay! :) Also I love bath time, it is always fun to play with water and have water splash fight hehe :D

How do you consider Violence towards Animal?

April 5, 2009 - 11:49 pm No Comments

Killing and eat them? If that is considered animal violence then all of us will be vegetarians. Let’s not go into that, lets talk about our pet dog / pet cat at home which are dearest to us and some treat them like our kids / children. So how do you consider them of being abused?
I have got a friend who hits the dog when it misbehaves, well its normal to hit to teach them but does it have a limit as to how hard / what should you use to hit the dog? I believe not everyone is fit to have a pet dog, which requires alot of time spent and attention, just like a child, but this child who doesn’t grow up.
But in this case, when the dog retaliates and misbehave, bites, whatever; then it gives him all the right to hit, kick, take up and throw the dog to wherever! table, toilet, door…you name it. I am just wondering is it right? Well i’m just against it, as that is not the right way to teach, forcing anger on the dog, instead it requires alot of patience and made known to the dog not to do it. Well i am not saying i am the best dog owner or who knows everything about pet dogs, but i just know violence is not the way. Will this be considered animal abuse?

Marley and Me; Roxy and Me

March 27, 2009 - 11:21 pm No Comments

This show can really make a girl cry, specially if she has a dog that is so dear to here before or at present, your imagination will tend to go together with the owner of Marley. Didn’t know that the dog’s name, was derived from “Robert, Bob, Marley”! Haha… Breed= Labrador Retriever (Not Labra-doodle, like Sebastian said in the movie) A Dog lover would always know the breed names :)

Run, Marley Run!

Run, Marley Run!

While mine a Siberian Husky, we call her Roxy. She is almost like Marley in that show, just that she is better as we had some house training before, she listens and now a very well more obedient dog. I believe all dogs needs training and you need to be / act like a master, in order for your pet dog to obey you. They are really smart creatures and yes, a man’s best friend :D

Puppy curiosity

Puppy curiosity

I would think that if Roxy is left alone, at the garage while she was a puppy, she would act the same like Marley, the whole garage turned down! Roxy eats almost everything, break my plant, makes Incredible Hulk’s shirt (copyright reserved; as there’s only one, haha) , newspapers, tissues like snow, slippers, socks, underwears, toothbrush, shaver, her own collar, best of all plastic bags! She Bites and Eats almost Everything! But still Marley beats her, since he had the whole answering machine swallowed without chewing according to “Owen Wilson” <–really funny guy :) Probably cos Marley is a He so more aggressive, can’t imagine if i had a Siberian husky male who is aggressive, they really mark their territory like Wolfs!

Although at times overly sentimental, Marley and Me is a sweet story of life with a dog. Like a child, Marley is sometimes unruly and tests their marriage, and also like a child sometimes is loving and sweet knowing just the right thing to do to make your heart melt.

Happy Birthday Roxy! 07th March 2009!

Roxy Girl

Roxy Girl

Roxy is officially 1 years old today :) This is the naughty girl jumping up the leather couch to try out the feeling of how we sitting on it like. Just trying her luck i guess ;) with a careful look of us coming to “shooh” her down, always active and alert girl!

I still remember the first day we brought her back, she was so small, barely 1 month old! and so cute, but poor thing she cried for mommy! But no worries, we always assure her that we will love her and have a good home for her :) and indeed she has. After the monthly shots to the Vet, teething problem, those puppy stages / problems are much lesser, though sometimes hormone changes or short memory of just plain stubbornness, made her repeat her same mistakes, but all comes with consequences.

This photo shows how small she is, look at her ears and mouth so short! :D

We started off with this

We started off with this

But more came along as she grows, the brush was certainly insufficient and dutch lady milk was certainly not right. She just had that for that night, and we change her to solid food the next day. I remember browsing through the internet for name for her and half way she was howling in the kitchen looking for mommy. Such a poor thing. Siberian Huskies are packed dogs, they move in packs and they always try to be pack leaders. So suddenly being taken away from her siblings and mommy’s nursing has really made her scared and crying all nite long. I even had a video of it.

Happy Birthday Roxy bunny!

After a year of experience bring Roxy up, i would conclude that Siberian Huskies are very smart and intelligent dogs, the know how to listen to human beings communication!!! haha so beware! if you plan to have one! :P In whatever circumstances, patience is very important specially in training and correcting. But after all the hardwork, the result is gratifying with a big small of satisfaction! :D
