Roxy Turns II

March 14, 2010 - 5:02 pm No Comments

Roxy turned 2 last weekend, no one actually remembered until Monday morning while i was driving to work 8th of March, hey…it was Roxy’s birthday yesterday! No one celebrated for her, till this week. But unfortunately she fell ill, vomited many times on Friday night, it was all her digested food. Not sure what’s wrong. And for the whole night there was discomfort can hear her crying. Got no choice but to let her sleep at the back kitchen with toilet access, but she kept banging the toilet door hoping that we let her out.
The next morning, she did not want to eat either, my mom brought her out for a walk and she came home drank water, vomited out even more food. I believe it is indigestion.
We try all sorts, getting advise from the vet gave her honey to drink she didn’t want. Bought glucose made for her just a few sips then she vomit again, poor thing. So we took her to the vet, the vet too can’t determine what’s wrong. Gave her a jab to stop her vomiting and fed her 2 tablets for fever.
She came back, we tried giving her vitamin where we normally add into her food, upon licking, immediately her body can’t take it, it was like spitted out.
Nothing we could do but to let her rest and hope that she recovers, she was so weak that even when she walk it’s like a drunkard, can’t walk straight.

No food for her till this morning, a slice of bread was given since she doesn’t want to eat her normal food.
Stopped by the pet shop today to buy her some energy food, cost RM8 only available in Vets.
As a birthday gift, we bought her a new dog collar, it shines at night if there’s any light shine upon the bone collar design. There was Black, Red and Blue, we decided on the Red to show the feminine side of her :)

Edge of Darkness

March 7, 2010 - 2:51 pm No Comments

Starring Mel Gibson; Directed by Martin Campbell.

Rating: 7/10

It is a movie about a father and daughter, who’s father is a  police and daughter who have been away studying and working. The father did not know what has the daughter been up to these days and they got reunited. The night they got reunited, the daughter has been shot dead. There’s where it capture all the attention and you will continue watching due to the suspense of why did they want to kill the daughter or him? Overall, its a good movie worth your 1.5 hours attention spent :) don’t really need to watch in the cinema though :P Since I’ve watch it even before the movie is officially launched in the cinemas. Only available in cinemas on 11th March 2010.

Lost my Jacket in APTLD

March 2, 2010 - 8:58 pm No Comments

I have been infected with bad memories these days. Very forgetful in fact, and everything seem to past so fast that i can’t fully remember what i did before that.
Probably i adopt too aggressively into the world of “open book exams” anything you can refer. I guess its time to change back to enhance my memory. This is sad, I lost my jacket at this APTLD meeting at KL convention centre.
Was having teabreak, was hot took off my jacket, then came up to meeting room, just prior to entering, decided to go down and visit all the booths. Was with my jacket all the while, until the last booth, where i put my things down when i bump into 2 old high school mates. It was 5.30pm when we came up the meeting room and the room was empty except for 1 table having a discussion. Quickly pack our stuff and leave the room after taking a bottle of water.
Moved to the sitting area are the concourse within the same floor, looking to network at the Equinix cocktail session. After a few rounds of talking around, when back to seat. Started to feel chilly, and pop the question, where’s my jacket? Searched high and low but unfortunately fail to find it :( Lost and Found, no clue as well. Must be someone has took it!!

How the Internet has help us Connect

February 22, 2010 - 1:58 am 2 Comments

Connection some call it, but how true that in this 21st century, how would life be like without the internet. Just been away for a almost a week without my laptop and internet, i feel so disorganize and disconnected from it all. Thank God I still have my phone but without 3G connection subscription.

Now I am back connected! :) At this time, I have some spare time during this 1 week holiday to read on some articles and blogs which is something I enjoy but have got no time to do so during my busy, hectic working and personal life. I came across a few blogs of individuals whom i know personally or related to an individual i know, which so happen are all Christians. It makes me ponder how God’s word works, and how individual experiences inspire others and now even through social media, which somewhat centralizes almost everyone’s connection.

Although i do not consider myself a social media addict but i am a heavy user of social media networking tools, such as Facebook and Twitter, therefore I get most of my updates from there, both personal and related news of the people i follow. I came across this link that was shared through Twitter, where he was sharing his talk given to pastors from various churches how they could use these social media tools to help grow their ministry. Like business, you sometimes need to go with the flow in technology, to improvise, be willing to change and adapt to the new terms and technology used also be aware of the soon to come of what lies ahead in the near future. So the same goes when comes to saving souls, just be very careful not get hooked and addicted to these tools :) You can checkout his particular blog post here Pastors, Social Media and boring slides

Here are also some of the videos he shared which are quite similar to some social media talks i’ve been to:-

Did you know?

Twouble with Twitter

This is a funny cartoonish video, of how addicts don’t have friends but is not entirely true but i believe there are people who lives only in the virtual world. As most of us spend an average of 10-12 hours at work, there’s not much time left to meet up and socialize, so with these tools, we can then keep ourselves updated on our friend’s lives.

Another blog to highlight is a friend’s fiance which my friend is no longer on this earth, but back with the Lord. He is a friend whom i met some 10 years ago at a Residential Bible School which we spent 4 weeks up in Cameron Highlands discovering ourselves and God, share and learn from each other. Though I am not very close to him, as he is more of a quiet type. He just got engaged for 2 weeks before he fell ill, this is the first blog which i read and i could empathize the feeling of his fiance, and cause my teardrops from my eyes. I could not imagine if I could take up the challenge if I would be the one to face this scenario. Checkout Friday Wake Service and Today is not any other day.
