That kept me thinking how our lives are placed into the hands of the taxi drivers once we enter into a taxi.
I realize alot of them are sometimes dreaming while driving, its as though they are immune to driving / some are very impatient drivers.

I remember recently I got into a taxi at Jalan Tun Razak on the left lane and immediately he cut all the way to the right lane. And a 1 ton lorry was driving very fast at the right lane pressing on his brakes hard & horn all the way & I quickly turned back to look with fear in my eyes praying that he could stopped in time, lucky me he did & went to the left. The taxi driver was calm & cool, turn left & have a look with no special facial expression as if to him is normal, how ignorant!!

Another occasion happened just recently which is really a joke. I was at Jln Sultan Ismail, waving for a taxi, went in told him Double tree hotel, not sure what he heard, he tried correcting me while on the ride. Saying that my pronunciation was incorrect for “tree”, but it can’t be. Then I say “tree” a few times and insisted it was right. Haha, then he ask it is the 1,2,3 the 3 right? I say no, then he ask how to spell the tree? So I told him, and he told me, later you see the spelling at the hotel which is off course “tree” and not 3/three you can see it clearly at the logo that is two trees joint together.

A typical outlook of my mornings in the lrt, I can see more people reading these days. Be it on their iPhone or simply any reading material. I believe that it is a good habit to take up as it updates you & if it’s a book, the author is basically bringing you to his thoughts, imaginations & even life experiences!

As this new year is here for the past 17 days, I’ve reclaimed back my blog as I can blog while I walk. (well not literally but as I’m on the go) . It will definitely gives me the flexibility, with quick & easy access as I’ve just download the iPhone ap, I think this is much easier & faster! Why haven’t I thought of it?

Now, while it’s a new year, new start, there should be a new goals, new achievements to be set!

While I ponder in December of the pass year 2010, there are quite a number of my resolution was achieved!
1) Determine to change my job
2) Lose some weight (which I did after I change my job); came as 2 in 1
3) Move house in 2011 (did it in the nick of time!)
4) Also to increase my knowledge.
(Attended 2 major seminar, which has definitely change my mindset on alot of things)

Now I need to set some new goals for 2011 to make it a fruitful year full of success & accomplishment

The above example clearly indicates that the salesperson just do not understand the value of what he is selling. In most cases, the results are the same. The buyer says, “Your price is too high!” and the salesperson agrees. The buyer wins the argument. Remember, price is what they pay; value is what they get. Remind yourself of the value-added services that your company delivers to your customers. Accepting your customers’ comments that your price is too high is equivalent to accepting that your product is nothing better than your competitors.

Selling is “you-focused”, not “me-focused”. Selling is primarily about helping individuals and organizations solve their problems with a product or service you offer. In order to succeed, you must get “me” out of the way. Your focus must be on the customer and what he / she / they need. You are not there to push a particular product that you like or that is best for your bank account. You are there to determine what product or service is best for the customer’s particular situation.

This can be difficult for some of us. We often approach a sales situation with everything we want to say fixed firmly in mind. When the customer brings up an objection, rather than listening for what the real concern is, we use one of the 1,001 “overcoming objections” one-liners we’ve memorized. Wouldn’t it make more sense to start by asking questions to determine what the customer’s true needs are instead?

Selling is hard work. Again, this may come as a surprise to those who think selling is the career choice of people looking for a way to dodge work. The truth of the matter is that selling is a challenging, mentally demanding and highly disciplined way to earn a living. It requires a high level of organization, a commitment to continuing education, professionalism and excellent follow-through skills, It also requires a quality that can be very difficult to attain and even more difficult to maintain: Persistence is Required!

The bottom line is this: Dealing with rejection, overcoming resistance, keeping up with current product information and maintaining a positive attitude is hard work. To succeed, you must commit wholly to putting in the necessary work, to consistently performing the tasks required for excellence.

Hachiko

The name of the dog “Hachi” meaning “eight” , the number referring to the position of the dog within the nest. It is a true story, base on a dog’s loyalty to his owner where he waited patiently and willingly without fail, daily same time, same place until the day he dies! How loyal is that? I don’t think even human can do that, and an animal who is so devoted to his owner with his responsibilities to see his owner to work and back from work daily was his best happiest moment. Hachiko who was born in on November 10th 1923 -  and died on March 8th 1935. That up till today, there is a monument built in the name of Hachiko in front of the Shibuya Train station of Tokyo Japan. Apparently until today, there is an annual ceremony on the 8th March, dog lovers and owners will bring their dog as a time of devotion and honor as a remembrance at Tokyo’s Shibuya station. Even the station entrance near this statue is named ” “Hachik?-guchi”, meaning “The Hachik? Exit”, and is one of Shibuya Station’s five exits.

We all experience fear at one time or another. Great salespeople are courageous, in that they are able to act and move forward even in the presence of their own fears. Fear is the reaction we have when you know that you need to do something or that something is going to happen soon that you are not prepared for.

Great salespeople got that way by always looking for a better way. They are always improving their approach, their techniques and their attitude. Great salespeople know that they must look for the best examples of excellence and adopt the individual aspects of this that they can use.

Looking back, some say that it was a test of the chicken’s health and growth capability. However, on the lighter side of things, there is quite a debate on this. Onto why did they use “chicken” instead of any other animals for this riddle, was it that “duck” was not invented yet?

Well, there is no right or wrong answer to this riddle, just a way on how you would to answer it to what i believe.
