HACHIKO – Hachik? (???)

March 20, 2010 - 11:01 pm 1 Comment

My mom told me about this movie she watched recently, a DVD that her friend borrowed her, very touching and best of all is a real life story of a dog, being so loyal to the master. The dog’s breed is from Japan, which is the Japanese Akita. I saw a Puppy Japanese Akita once in real life this breed which looks abit like a cat/lion when it grows bigger.  I would give this movie a 8.1 / 10; the plus point is that is a True Story and secondly is how they get the dog to act so closely with Richard Gere, from a puppy, adult and senior dog.

Hachiko

The name of the dog “Hachi” meaning “eight” , the number referring to the position of the dog within the nest. It is a true story, base on a dog’s loyalty to his owner where he waited patiently and willingly without fail, daily same time, same place until the day he dies! How loyal is that? I don’t think even human can do that, and an animal who is so devoted to his owner with his responsibilities to see his owner to work and back from work daily was his best happiest moment. Hachiko who was born in on November 10th 1923 -  and died on March 8th 1935. That up till today, there is a monument built in the name of Hachiko in front of the Shibuya Train station of Tokyo Japan. Apparently until today, there is an annual ceremony on the 8th March, dog lovers and owners will bring their dog as a time of devotion and honor as a remembrance at Tokyo’s Shibuya station. Even the station entrance near this statue is named ” “Hachik?-guchi”, meaning “The Hachik? Exit”, and is one of Shibuya Station’s five exits.

A trailer of this movie can be found in youtube, if you’ve got no time to watch it, when it was a puppy it was really cute!

5 Characteristics of a Top Sales Person

March 17, 2010 - 7:41 pm No Comments

Character #1 – Results Focused (Pro-Active)
One of best things about being a sales person is you have a tremendous amount of freedom and discretion in how you use your time. In return, you must be able to stay focused on the big picture and not let small problems or dramas distract you.

Character #2 – Courageous
We all experience fear at one time or another. Great salespeople are courageous, in that they are able to act and move forward even in the presence of their own fears. Fear is the reaction we have when you know that you need to do something or that something is going to happen soon that you are not prepared for.

Character #3 – High Energy (Assertive)
The true top-performers got that way by working long and hard to beat out their competition while the other guys were enjoying themselves on the golf course. In short, you must be able to do “Whatever It Takes” to get to the top.

Character #4 – Good Network
The ability to establish rapport and maintain rapport is probably the single most powerful skill a salesperson can have. The most flexible people can adapt and establish rapport with others from a multitude of backgrounds and cultures.

Character #5 – Committed To Grow
Great salespeople got that way by always looking for a better way. They are always improving their approach, their techniques and their attitude. Great salespeople know that they must look for the best examples of excellence and adopt the individual aspects of this that they can use.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

March 15, 2010 - 1:01 am 1 Comment

This is indeed a very good question. I have heard of this question since my schooling days, and this is one of the oldest and most famous riddle still in use in the English history.

Looking back, some say that it was a test of the chicken’s health and growth capability. However, on the lighter side of things, there is quite a debate on this. Onto why did they use “chicken” instead of any other animals for this riddle, was it that “duck” was not invented yet?

Well, there is no right or wrong answer to this riddle, just a way on how you would to answer it to what i believe.

Roxy Turns II

March 14, 2010 - 5:02 pm No Comments

Roxy turned 2 last weekend, no one actually remembered until Monday morning while i was driving to work 8th of March, hey…it was Roxy’s birthday yesterday! No one celebrated for her, till this week. But unfortunately she fell ill, vomited many times on Friday night, it was all her digested food. Not sure what’s wrong. And for the whole night there was discomfort can hear her crying. Got no choice but to let her sleep at the back kitchen with toilet access, but she kept banging the toilet door hoping that we let her out.
The next morning, she did not want to eat either, my mom brought her out for a walk and she came home drank water, vomited out even more food. I believe it is indigestion.
We try all sorts, getting advise from the vet gave her honey to drink she didn’t want. Bought glucose made for her just a few sips then she vomit again, poor thing. So we took her to the vet, the vet too can’t determine what’s wrong. Gave her a jab to stop her vomiting and fed her 2 tablets for fever.
She came back, we tried giving her vitamin where we normally add into her food, upon licking, immediately her body can’t take it, it was like spitted out.
Nothing we could do but to let her rest and hope that she recovers, she was so weak that even when she walk it’s like a drunkard, can’t walk straight.

No food for her till this morning, a slice of bread was given since she doesn’t want to eat her normal food.
Stopped by the pet shop today to buy her some energy food, cost RM8 only available in Vets.
As a birthday gift, we bought her a new dog collar, it shines at night if there’s any light shine upon the bone collar design. There was Black, Red and Blue, we decided on the Red to show the feminine side of her :)
