My Father’s Death
Recently, due to one of my high school mates who pass away, who is 3 years younger than me, have got me thinking a lot of my life’s perspective. And the unexpentancy of life, its like what is stated in the Bible, the book of Revelation, “the end of the world would come like as quiet as a thief in the middle of the night and no one knows except for the Son of God”
When people around me are saying that it is the end of the world, with so many natural disaster and catastrophic incidents happening very near around us, this is just one of the stage if I am not mistaken there is 7 signs of darkness before the judgement day comes. But when that day comes, no one could predict.
Back to acquinctance I mentioned above, she have 2 children both very young and do not know what is really happening around them. It seems that during the birth of her second child, it has cause her heart weaken and sometimes will encounter very fast heartbeat. So on Sunday she was admitted to the hospital for the very fast heartbeat encounter and then the doctor gave her a jab which was suppose to slow down her heartbeat, but after the jab she sleep and never woke-up again.
During dinner today with my mom, I had this life and death conversation with her as she was saying one of her colleagues sister in-law past away for 2 hours she lost her breath and heartbeat, so the husband informed all his family members about this. But when the nurse/doctor arrived to the house and gave her an injection, she came back to life! Wow! What a drastic measure a jab/injection could make! But to those of us still alive, it could mean disaster! ![]()
Then it led to, can we actually sue the doctors for taking the life of our loved ones? They earn pretty big bucks for performing a surgery on you, this includes giving birth. But these days I’ve been listening to a lot of weird stories of people dying because of doctors “mistake”.
My dad was one of the victims. My mom has told me many times of what “sickness” my dad actually die off, but somehow I keep forgetting, probably it was too complicated or perhaps there were some hidden facts/stories that I do not know off. So I better write it down now. But I certainly know when I was young, my grandmother has never liked my father’s family, probably it was due to how they have treated my mom and how selfish they are.
So how my father died? It started when he kept vomiting whatever food that he taken down, so went to the doctor, and as usual doctor would as you a bunch of question (because they are not God, they base on what you say, they prescribe you with the medicine/SOP to diagnose / cure you) so they asked my mom if he has gastric background, my mom said no, but my father’s youngest brother who is a practicing doctor at that time said “Yes! i remember he has a background of gastric.” So without further a do, they took an X-ray of my dad’s stomach and probably there was a slight shake during when the X-ray was taken; therefore the X-ray turn out to have a white “scratch”/line at the stomach area. Which indicates something within the stomach area such as cancer, stomach ulcer, etc. But everything to do with the stomach.
Thereafter, they prepared for the first operation to see and remove the “problem” inside the stomach. HOWEVER, once they opened it,the doctors found out that there is nothing wrong with the stomach but instead, it was the pancreas that was having issues. They have sealed back for the first operation. However once pancreas has been exposed, it causes it to be acidic and bacteria infections causes the pancreas to produce past. (This happened in May 1983)
In total they did 4 operations between May – Sept and my father past away on the 2nd Oct 1983. I remember my mom mentioned that my dad needed “plasma” donation (the tissue required for our blood to clog ~ normally transparent/yellowish – if you see wounds healing) I think is because of the frequent and severe operation procedures. In cases like these, can we sue the doctor? Which during admission, you have signed a piece of paper, that you trust that the doctor will do what is best to his/her knowledge and you will not charge anything against him should anything happen. (not sure of the exact words, but it possess that meaning)
Morale: Know your rights, and don’t believe 100% what the doctor says or the prescription they give. As no one knows you best but yourself!
Cheers, *In rememberance of my father’s death and few days later of my birth*
